THE FEDERAL
All Inclusive
8 Months
This Federal-style home had a traditional layout that didn't suit our clients and their blended family of eight (plus the dog, Scout!). This warm and welcoming bunch brought us on to give the formal house a more open plan and laid-back aesthetic with a mix of classic romantic elements and clean lines. Not to mention, plenty of space for a bustling family! We reworked the kitchen to open to the family room and covered an awkward fireplace in the kitchen (don't worry - there are still two in the house) to make space for more cabinet storage.
In the primary bath, there was too much unusable space and too little space in the closet, so we reworked the floor plan to create a generous primary closet and more functional vanity and shower area. We spent hours designing the custom cabinetry throughout the house to tailor it to our clients' organizational and functional needs and drew custom trim packages for each space.
The clients wanted the home to reflect and honor their families, so we incorporated quite a bit of sentimental memorabilia, such as the mirror in the powder bath, portraits in the study, and many numerous photographs and professional accommodations on the bookshelves.
Our all-inclusive package included selection of hard surfaces throughout the house including tile, counters, wall treatments, trim, new custom exterior doors, interior door and cabinet hardware, plumbing fixtures, appliances, cabinetry, stair railing and wallpaper in the study, dining room, pantry, and formal powder room. We sourced all of the furnishings, rugs, and drapery on the first floor, and sourced accessories and art for the final styling layer.
